I know in my mill that the balls as well as the housing wear with time. I assume that the slop in the box is the same issue. I had also assumed a rebuild kit to include the screw gear bearings and not just gaskets, seals, shaft bearings and thrust washers. It seems it is lacking the most important part of the rebuild.
