As such, efforts to recover, valorise and beneficiate minerals acquired from AMD treatment process have been ongoing, albeit …
Barite is an inorganic mineral mainly constituted by barium sulfate (BaSO4) which finds applications across a variety of industries. Low quality barite can be beneficiated to meet high-purity requirement. Thus, in this work, we developed an optimum beneficiation process for upgrading barite-bearing ore from Azare in Bauchi State, …
Subsequently, the combustion product is subjected to acid leaching with nitric acid, in which NaCl, MgO and Mg can be readily dissolved, leading to the isolation of FeTi. It has been revealed that FeTi is obtained as the major phase when the acid leaching is carried out at low temperatures (40 °C), where Fe 3 Ti 3 O also exists as a minor phase.
Ilmenite was oxidized with 5vol% O2 in Ar at temperatures of 1173 K or 1223 K and subsequently leached using a diluted H2SO4 solution to dissolve the …
Uranium is widely distributed in the Earth's crust with estimates of its abundance varying between 2 and 4 ppm (Clark et al., 2006, Fleischer, 1955).Uranium in the crust is concentrated in over 200 mineral species that contain uranium as a necessary structural constituent in either the reduced U 4 + or oxidised U 6 + valence state. The …

The beneficiation of titania (TiO 2) by sulfuric acid (H 2 SO 4) pressure leaching of Panzhihua ilmenite was investigated. The reaction temperature, H 2 SO 4 concentration, and concentration of ferrous ions (Fe 2 +) had significant effects on the enrichment of TiO 2.With increasing reaction temperatures, the dissolution of iron from …
High-pressure acid leach (HPAL) residue from laterite nickel ore is a potentially valuable resource for ironmaking; however, its efficient utilization is hindered by its high sulfur content. In this study, an effective and straightforward method is proposed for sulfur removal from HPAL residue. The process involves sieving and sodium carbonate …

There are two economic sources of lithium; brines and hard rock ores. The majority of the global lithium production, greater than 60%, is produced from brines while lithium ores accounted for the remaining production (Ebensperger et al., 2005).Table 1 summarises the world's major lithium producers from ores and brines, and the total …
